INFORMATION & ADVICE

Carbide endmills for countersunk head screws

Using these precision carbide endmills will enable you to make perfect assemblies. They will quickly become indispensable items, as they will simplify your life when assembling knives with countersunk screws. You'll need them for precision-fit handle assemblies, ensuring that your screw heads are perfectly seated.

The design of the endmill itself plays an essential role. They are tailor-made to fit perfectly with all our mounting accessories. This eliminates any risk of parts not being properly supported, for flawless assembly. Countersunk screws contribute to a neat, clean finish, crucial to achieving perfectly fitting closing knives.

Carbide endmills for extra strength.

Our carbide endmills are made in France, in the Thiers basin, and are made from tungsten carbide, which means you can make handles from a huge range of materials, and drill wood and titanium with the same precision. The only thing you'll need to worry about when using these tools is the speed of rotation, which will vary depending on the material you want to drill. A high speed is recommended for soft materials (up to 15,000 rpm for aluminium) and a low speed for hard materials (around 1,100 rpm for titanium).

Using this simple rule, you can adapt the speed of rotation according to your observations of the results obtained on the materials being worked.

Tips for the endmills use

As with any use of components requiring precision, the use of our endmills with a drill press with depth guide is essential for the following reasons:

The workpiece must be held firmly, for example using a vice, and we strongly recommend that you wear protective equipment (goggles, gloves, etc.).

Fitting is a meticulous operation that will be very simple if you use the right tools. The final assembly, with absolute precision, becomes child's play and guarantees you a top-of-the-range finish
