Discover our top-of-the-range glass microspheres, perfect for removing areas of rust and various residues, and also perfect for giving a unique visual appearance to the handles or blades of your knives.
Made from top-quality glass, these microspheres enable a precision sanding process with their unrivalled consistency for exceptional results every time.
In the fields of metallurgy, construction, composite manufacturing or art, our glass microspheres are perfect for a wide range of applications such as abrasion, polishing, shot blasting, decoration, deburring or lapping.
These glass beads are recommended for cleaning or renovating metal, for producing satin finishes on non-ferrous metals such as stainless steel or aluminium, and also for shot peening, which can be used to harden or strengthen the surface of a metal (work hardening).
With a recommended pressure range of 4 to 6 bar, bead blasting can be used on a wide range of materials, from plastics to composites, ceramics to metals.
Before use, it is advisable to carry out tests on the material to be worked on to fine-tune the pressure settings and assess the results obtained.
In the cutlery industry, handles and blades sandblasted with glass beads will have a more uniform, smoother surface than those sandblasted with traditional methods, which leave a more or less grainy surface.
In terms of appearance, glass bead blasting can give aluminium or stainless steel parts, for example, an exceptional visual appearance (shine, satin finish, optical effects).
Made from oven-fired crushed recycled glass, our glass microspheres are chemically neutral, non-toxic and non-contaminating.
They can be reused over several sandblasting cycles, which means they are best used in a sandblasting cabinet.
At the end of the cycle, when the beads lose their effectiveness due to the presence of residues, they can be easily recycled, which is good news for the environment.
High quality : Our glass microspheres are Made In France and carefully selected to ensure optimum purity and uniformity, guaranteeing reliable performance every time.
Our glass microspheres have a particle size of between 90 and 150 μm, which is perfect for use on your steel parts.
On request, we can provide you with different granulometries to suit the work you want to carry out and the types of materials to be treated.
Don't hesitate to ask our teams for advice on your choice.
They have a hardness of 6 on the Mohs scale, with a melting point of 730°C.
The optimum operating pressure for our microspheres is between 4 and 6 bar maximum, i.e. if the work is effective above this pressure, the destruction and wear of the microbeads will be accelerated.
On the other hand, below 4 bars, the work is not very effective.
Our glass beads comply with the specifications of the SAE AMS 2431/6 and NF L06-831 standards (among others) for the aerospace, nuclear and military sectors.
