Thermic EVO140 quenching oil is one of Motul's latest developments. Extremely accelerated, allowing a very fast cooling speed, it has been formulated from highly refined base oils, making it very easy to use.
Developed to replace Thermic INO235 quenching oil, Thermic EVO140 quenching oil has a very high cooling rate: it will enable full use to be made of steels that can reach very high hardnesses during austenitisation. A true equivalent to Durixol V35 quenching oil, Thermic EVO140 quenching oil is the synthesis of all Motul's know-how, placed at the service of knifemaking. It is just as suitable for very pronounced hamons as it is for cooling high-carbon steels and getting the best out of these grades in terms of hardness.
How do I use EVO140 quenching oil?
As with most tempering oils, we recommend that you heat Thermic EVO140 to between 40 and 70°C before use.
