INFORMATION & ADVICE

DSC© stainless steel-S Wild pattern. Stainless steel damas Markus Balbach, ideal for professional kitchen knives.

Damascus steel with Sandvik stainless steel:

The company Balbach is based in Germany with technology that enables it to achieve a high quality Damascus. A Sandvik partner, it offers a Damascus steel made up of two high-performance grades from the Swedish steel manufacturer. The design technique allows for the maintenance of a very fine microstructure, without impurities that avoids any risk of layer burst during the manufacturing stages and guarantees the blades a good hold of the edge. Hardness after heat treatment can reach 61 HRC.

Damascus stainless steel for kitchen knife blades:

The DSC© stainless steel-S is suitable for food contact, so it is a very good steel for the manufacture of professional kitchen knife blades. It is also very popular for making pocket and outdoor knives for its robustness, its cutting quality.

This Wild pattern by Markus Balbach invites us to touch this damas steel, to caress it. It suggests the softness and silky touch of the wood. He is a quite peaceful savage who will suit all blade sizes.
